Volunteer Coordinator: Paid Part Time

The Gravel Worlds team is looking for a friendly, organized, and community-minded person to join our crew as Volunteer Coordinator! This part-time, paid position plays a key role in bringing the Gravel Family spirit to life by helping organize, communicate with, and support our amazing volunteers for Winter Endurance and Gravel Worlds events.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage our volunteer sign-up software and coordinate all volunteer scheduling.

  • Communicate with volunteers before and during events to ensure everyone knows their roles and feels appreciated.

  • Oversee volunteer check-in, training, and assignments during event weeks.

  • Coordinate with team leads for key areas like course marshals, aid stations, and setup crews.

  • Order and distribute volunteer swag.

  • Help with post-event thank-yous and volunteer retention.

  • Be a welcoming, encouraging face of the Gravel Family for every volunteer who helps make our events special!

Time Commitment:

  • Less than 5 hours per month most of the year.

  • ~15 hours during Winter Endurance race week (February).

  • Full-day commitment during Gravel Worlds week (Wednesday–Sunday August 19-23).

Preferred Experience & Qualities:

  • Experience in event or volunteer coordination, or other people-centered roles.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Passion for gravel cycling, running, and community events.

  • Local to Lincoln, Nebraska preferred (but not required).
