2013 Gravel Worlds

A Return to Conestoga State Park

The 2013 edition of Gravel Worlds marked the first of two consecutive years the event started and finished at Conestoga State Park, located just south of Lincoln, Nebraska. This year's course featured a counterclockwise loop around Lincoln, passing through towns like Hickman, Bennet, and Malcolm, which served as self-supported oasis locations.

The 150-mile route presented a challenging mix of gravel roads and minimal maintenance routes, offering riders a true gravel racing experience. The course's elevation gain and variable conditions tested participants' endurance and navigational skills.

Winners

  • Male Champion: Austin Horse completed the course in 9 hours and 5 minutes.

  • Female Champion: Monika Sattler finished in 9 hours and 38 minutes.

Community and Legacy

Gravel Worlds 2013 continued the event's tradition of fostering a sense of community among participants. Riders from various backgrounds came together to challenge themselves and support one another, embodying the spirit of adventure and camaraderie that defines Gravel Worlds.

This edition further solidified Gravel Worlds' reputation as a reputable gravel cycling event, setting the stage for future growth and expansion.
